RP Scherer technology
R.P. Scherer is a leading developer of drug-delivery technologies used by pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies to improve the effectiveness and extend the lives of its products. In August 1934 the prolific inventor Robert Pauli Scherer invented the rotary die encapsulation process, revolutionizing the soft gelatin encapsulation field. R.P. Scherer's worldwide patent estate includes more than 900 patents and patent applications, representing technologies protected in almost 70 countries. Pharco Pharmaceuticals is the only company in Egypt, the Middle East, and North Africa that enjoys the benefit or partnering with R.P. Scherer for 40 years. With our experience and cutting-edge technology, we are determined to affect people’s lives positively.
Experience
Being in the pharmaceutical business since 1954 brought upon us nothing but strength. It helped us actively develop our techniques, grow and expand both physically and intellectually, and observe patient needs while knowing how to fill them. With our inherited, diverse experience and our quality management system, we are able to optimize the uses of our resources. Dr. H.A. Helmy trained and worked for 34 years in several public owned companies, in addition to hospitals, Scientific office and a faculty member in the “ University of pharmacy Alexandria ” which in turn led to a wealth of knowledge in the pharmaceutical field. Having this experience and communicating through Pharco’s workforce is one of the main reasons why Pharco employees are more efficient.The use of our resources optimally, and the knowledge of pitfalls and methods on how to avoid them, leading to the delivery of high quality medications at an affordable price.
Big Entity
Pharco Corporation was able to develop a large entity throughout the years via acquisitions alongside expansion. Expansion was not pursued as much as forced due of high demand of our products. Luckily, this has enabled our company to achieve its mission, compete and strive to increase product portfolio and the continuous development of the existing products, reduce production costs, thus providing affordable medication, and improving our efficiency while optimizing the company’s processes. We enjoy the many benefits of being big, while still offering the relaxed family like atmosphere. Pharco Corporation currently consists of six manufacturing facilities in Alexandria Egypt, two trading companies, and one company in Romania, together with scientific offices around the world. We are also proud partners in Batterjee Pharma, a manufacturing company in Saudi Arabia. Currently Pharco employs more than 5700 employees, produced more than 345 Million units in 2011.
