History

1957: Establishment of Glym Pharmacy in Alexandria. Manufacturing of Aminophylline suppositories in-house in Glym Pharmacy.
Aminophylline suppositories (highly effective and safe bronchodilators).
1965: launching of scientific office, Vitanco, importing soft gelatin capsule drugs from RP Scherer Germany.
1983: corner stone of Pharco Pharmaceuticals.
1987: Pharco Pharmaceuticals started operation on the 14th of January 1987.
Introduced for the first time in Egypt, local manufacturing of soft gelatin capsules, in addition to other dosage forms and antibiotics.
1993: Establishment of R.P Scherer Egypt, in partnership with RP Scherer Corporation.
Establishment of Pharco Impex 93, which is the import, marketing and distribution branch of Pharco in Romania.
1997: Dr. Hassan Abbas Helmy buys majority partner shares in Pharco Pharmaceuticals.
1999: The construction of a new separate Beta-Lactam facility to avoid cross contamination with other products, in compliance with cGMP regulations.
2002: Acquisition of three major local competitors, Amriya Pharmaceuticals, EEPI (European Egyptian Pharmaceutical Industry), and Techno Pharma Egypt (a local soft gelatin capsules manufacturer).
2004: Pharco Pharmaceuticals joins with local competitor EIPICO and Batterjee Group in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to establish Batterjee Pharmaceuticals KSA, which offers a wide range of pharmaceutical products to the Saudi Arabian market and beyond.
2008: Launch of Pharco B International, starting with a dedicated facility for the production of Cephalosporin antibiotics for local and international markets.
2010: A separate Extension in Pharco B International for the production water for injection in plastic ampoules.
Extension in Techno Pharma Egypt for the production of empty hard gelatin capsules.
2012: Extension in Pharco B International for the production of sterile ampoules. Start up of a new separate dedicated Hormone facility in Techno Pharma Egypt.
